Building the website for Franklin FOTO was a deeply personal project, combining my passion for black-and-white photography with my desire to give back to the community that has given me so much. As a photographer, I’ve always loved the timeless quality of black-and-white imagery, and that love guided my approach to designing the website. Working in trade for a membership, I saw this project as an opportunity to support a space dedicated to preserving and celebrating the art of analog photography—something I believe is invaluable to the creative community in Portland.
Through this collaboration, I built a fully functional Squarespace website and helped develop their e-commerce platform, ensuring members could easily access workshops, memberships, and merchandise. I also contributed to Franklin FOTO’s initial branding, tying everything together with a striking black-and-white theme that reflects the essence of the darkroom experience. This project wasn’t just about creating an online presence; it was about supporting a cause I deeply believe in, while helping others discover the magic of black-and-white photography that has inspired my creative journey.
