The Idea:

What if learning STEM could be as fun as playing in a lab? The Fab Lab brings “Crazy Aunt Lindsay” to OMSI, guiding kids through exciting experiments with the help of curious children and OMSI faculty, making science fun, engaging, and full of discovery.
For The Fab Lab, the client aimed to create a fun and engaging kids’ TV program focused on teaching STEM through a partnership with OMSI. Our goal was to craft a concept that would excite young audiences, establish the show’s quirky and lovable main character, and highlight the program’s educational value.

As an Art Director, I helped develop the idea of transforming OMSI into "The Fab Lab," with the main character, “Crazy Aunt Lindsay,” leading the adventure. The concept revolved around her playful exploration of the facilities, gradually joined by curious kids and supportive OMSI faculty. This setup showcased the vibrant, imaginative tone of the series while emphasizing collaboration and discovery.

As the Director of Photography the creative execution focused on balancing whimsy with structure to appeal to both kids and parents. By integrating dynamic visuals, energetic pacing, and interactive moments with OMSI staff, we brought the vision to life. The promotion successfully captured the excitement and fun of the series, building anticipation for its launch and positioning The Fab Lab as a must-watch STEM experience for kids.
