The Idea:

Amid the quiet of pandemic-era Portland, this project captured the city’s resilience through a visual narrative that juxtaposed its empty streets with its enduring beauty, offering a poignant reminder of hope and strength.
At the height of the pandemic in April 2020, I undertook a passion project with GMS Media and Advertising to bring hope and resilience to our Portland community. With the city’s streets eerily empty and uncertainty weighing heavily, I wanted to capture the spirit of Portland and remind people of what makes it special. I created a visual narrative that showcased the city in a new, profound way—juxtaposing the emptiness with its enduring beauty. This project became a powerful reflection of the moment, reminding us that even in challenging times, the heart of Portland remains unshaken.
